Feeling low or anxious?
Samaritans
The Samaritans are free to call and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on 116 123 They are there to provide a listening ear and do not judge you or tell others.
Kernos
Based in Sudbury, Kernos Provides counselling for people aged 5 upwards, helping you to regain your mental health and wellbeing. You can pay according to your means. For more information ring them on 01787 882 883 or email [email protected]

Wellbeing Service
The Wellbeing Service are offering various free online workshops to help children, young people and their parents. Courses include:

- Raising Happy Resilient Children an online webinar monthly
- Parenting the Anxious Child an online webinar monthly
- Dealing with Feeling Anxious and Dealing with Feeling Down, both are monthly workshops, on different days, online

If you don’t have enough money to buy food for yourself and your family, you may be able to get a food box from the Storehouse. To receive emergency food from a Foodbank you will need a ‘food request slip’. You can get this from the following people;

Solo Housing Genesis Housing Orwell Housing The Befriending Scheme office
If you are unable to get a food request slip, then please call them on 07973 710905 . They hold weekly drop-ins on Tuesday and Friday 1-3pm at the Vineyard Centre, Tudor Road, Sudbury CO10 1NP (next to The Phoenix Children’s Centre.
The Storehouse foodbank will treat you with respect and dignity. They will offer you a warm welcome, refreshments and a friendly chat. It is a Christian organisation but your own beliefs will be respected.
Have a Free Homecooked Lunch
Drop in on Mondays 12pm-2pm at The Suffolk Road Church, Suffolk Road, Sudbury. Contact 01787 311558 for more information. No Pressure, No Questions, just lunch and a friendly face.
Need clothing, household goods or bedding?
Drop in to Sudbury Community Depot at The Christopher Centre, Gainsborough Street, Sudbury. It’s open on Mondays from 10 am to 12 noon (including Bank Holidays) and Thursdays 10 am to 1pm . The Depot offers support to anyone who needs clothing, household goods or bedding. They also have small pieces of furniture on site and will look out for larger items such as sofas on your behalf. In need of Friendship?
If you are isolated due to a physical disability, a learning disability or a mental health problem, The Befriending Scheme may be able to arrange for a volunteer Befriender to visit you or meet up once a week or so. The Befriending scheme works hard to get to know you so they can link you with a volunteer who has similar interests or hobbies. If you would like to have a 1-to-1 Befriender, please contact Danielle on 01787 371 333.
Need emotional support?
The Kernos Centre provides professional counselling and support for people with emotional and psychological difficulties in Sudbury and the surrounding area. Suitable therapy is available to everyone – with no financial constraints or time limit.
